App Purchases & Upgrades: Do they Work Across or Between iOS & Android Operating Systems?

The short answer is no. 

Each of our apps are individual and separate apps. They are individually optimized for either iOS or Android, and sold separately through both the App and Play Stores. Purchases do not work between our separate apps (even if you are using a different app but using the same operating system) and don't work across operating systems. 

Purchases are made solely under your App Store or Play Store account. That means to be able to use your purchase, you must be logged into the same App or Play Store account you use to make the original purchase.

• Purchases are made solely under your App Store or Play Store account. That means to be able to use your purchase, you must be logged into the same App or Play Store account you use to make the original purchase.
• Purchases are in no way associated with Dictionary.com user accounts. 
• Purchases cannot be moved across app store or play store accounts. They are solely tied to the store account under-which you made the original purchase. If you no longer have access to the purchasing account, you won't be able to use your purchases; in this case you need to make a new purchase in your new App or Play Store account.

Purchased Apps or in-app purchases don't work across multiple Dictionary.com apps. 

• Purchases do not work across different Dictionary.com apps.
  • For example, you can't make a purchase of our Pro app and access the same features in our Free app. If you try, you won't see your purchases there in the free app, as the purchases only apply to the specific app you paid for. 
  • Another example: if you make a purchase in one of our Android apps, this won't give you access to the same purchase/features in our iOS or iPad apps (or vice versa). In this case, if you'd like to have access to the same features on Android and iOS or iPad, you'd have to make a purchase from each operating system's app, and under the corresponding app/play stores. 

If you move between operating systems, or if you no longer have access to the App or Play Store account under-which you made a purchase, you won't have access to your prior purchase. In these cases one would need to make a new purchase in their new account or in their new App/Play Store.

• If you move from one store type to the other (e.g.- from the App Store to the Play Store) your purchase won't transfer to that new account. In this case, you would need to make a new purchase on the new store for your new device and operating system.
  • Note that purchases of our apps, as well as In-App Purchases, are not refundable. A refund will not be issued in the above described circumstances.

App purchases don't apply to the Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com Websites:

• App purchases and in-app purchases do not apply to our Dictionary.com or Thesaurus.com websites. App purchases won't change your website experiences. For example, if you buy a no-ads experience on the app, you'd still see ads on our websites.
