Updated browsers supported by Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com

Which browsers should I use?

Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com are tested with the browsers listed below. To use our full suite of features and receive the intended experience, we strongly recommend you use one of these browsers and versions.

These browsers are supported on desktop:

  • Google Chrome: latest two versions
  • Mozilla Firefox: latest two versions
  • Apple Safari: latest two versions
  • Microsoft Edge: latest two versions

These browsers are supported on mobile web:

  • iOS 9 and higher
  • Chrome Mobile for Android: latest version

What if I have an older browser version?

We strongly recommend you update your browser to the latest version. While older browser versions or other browser types may still be able used, the features and layout may not look or work as intended, or you may even have a severely degraded experience.

We don't actively support older browser versions. And we do not commit that our site will fully function as intended if you use a browser that is not on this list.

Should you still choose to use one, if you come across any issues in layout or functionality on an older browser version or when using a browser beyond these 4 browsers, do note that those issues will not be fixed. You'll have an as-is experience.

We recommend that you always use the current version of a browser. Most browsers provide an option for automatic updates. Additionally, JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to allow for full use of our websites. For example, without JavaScript, search & filtering features may not work at all.
