How do I restore my purchases, in my iPad app?

If you would like to restore purchases made within the iPad app, you can tap on the icon on the top left corner, which resembles three horizontal lines. Under this menu, you will find "Upgrades," and then at the bottom of this page, you will find a button labeled "Restore Purchases."

By selecting this, you can reinstall past purchases you have made under this user account. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple Store ID that you previously bought the app with.

A few important items to note:

  • Dictionary.com currently offers two different sets of apps for Apple devices: a free & pro app for iPhones and a free & Pro app for iPads. Each of these apps is unique app that is optimized for the specific device they are used on- and have separate App Store Product IDs and exist independently of the other. They are not interchangeable and you cannot transfer purchases/upgrades between your iPhone app and your iPad app, or vice versa.
  • If you do not have access to the App Store account under-which the purchase was originally made, you won't be able to restore the purchases. In this case, you will have to make a new purchase in your current App Store account
  • App purchases are restorable, when logged into the same App Store account you used to make the original purchase, provided the purchase or in-app purchase/upgrade is still supported by Dictionary.com. If an app or in-app purchase/upgrade has been discontinued, or support for that offering has been removed, it will not be available to restore or use. Discontinued apps or in-app purchases are not eligible for a refund.
  • App Purchases and In-App-Purchases are final sale and cannot be refunded.
